Sinnlichkeit und Ableismus im Kontext von Schriftsprache

Das disruptive Potential des auditiven Lesens

authored by
Miklas Thorben Schulz
Abstract

The topic of this article is the notion of socialized reading comprehension. There is a tacit consensus that reading is an exclusively visual practice. The goal of the argument is to deconstruct this consensus view. The article makes reference to the notion of ableism, which has recently gained wide acceptance in the field of disability studies. By means of his own research results, the author shows the extent to which the socio-cultural construction of our sensory capabilities makes a central contribution to our sensory differences. This idea is challenged and extended via the introduction of the concept of auditory reading.
